7 Basics to start an ecomemrce business
But I want to run the business autopilot mode. Here is what I am doing now!
we are going to look at something new & most important areas in the eCommerce business because It is been 2 months since we started our 1st eCommerce brand. It is giving lots of learning & creating problems too! In the business, there are different aspects of functions:
Marketing
Sales
Operation
People Management
Management
R&D
Accounts.
In the initial stage, as we know we can't focus on all functions. Mainly most business owners focus on Sales & Operations to survive & make a profit. We have outsourced operations & remaining we handled like Sales, People Management, R&D, and Management (Strategy & Growth). Problem That we faced!
Initially, I wanted to understand the customer behavior & why they are buying. So I worked on the customer success team for a while & understood the behaviors. But It keeps disturbing my actual work which is growth Strategy creation.
We need a person to follow up with the 3rd party vendor for delivering & shipping on time. After giving training also, they are not delivering on time. Customers are asking us "what is the status" & "when will you deliver?"
More than 200 Qty we sold, but only 5 people are given the review. We called the customers & but they are responding that I will do it. No new reviews are coming.
People are returning the COD orders because they are changing their mid or rejecting them because of delivery delays.
Since our products are customized products, we use an app called "customized". It charges around 180$ per month for 100 orders
It seems like, we don't have control over it. But I want to run the business autopilot mode. Here is what I am doing now!
Hiring Freelancers to manage Customer Success team, Packing & Shipping. So that I can test my systems & framework with freelancers before I hire for full-time.
assigning specific department tasks to the freelancers & giving the training to them. So that they can follow our process. If they leave, we can train the same thing for other new freelancers.
Already we switched to another vendor. Still, we are having 2 more vendors for backup.
Reducing the Cost by developing your own app which is a one-time cost.
Verifying the COD orders via WhatsApp. So that we can avoid low-quality orders or fraud.
We are giving gifts/incentives to people who write reviews with photos or videos.
