[The Power of storytelling] How I got my 150 INR back from Police
Most of the time people don't make decisions logically, they make decisions emotionally. Without knowing the fact of life.
Today, you are going to learn about how I changed the mind of the police by telling my own difficulties of my own life as a story.
I have been working in Bangalore since 2016. There was a day I went in the way of no entry & caught up with the police. He asked me to pay a penalty of Rs/- 500, but I had only Rs/-150, he didn't allow me to go until I paid the penalty amount. Finally, I gave 150 rupees to him which I had.
Then after some long conversation, he gave my money back & he allowed me to go.
Curious to know how I changed his mind to get my money back.
I told my simple painful story. Read it below:
“I told the police that I have only 150 rupees in my hand & also I am about to leave Bangalore.
Did he ask why?
I said today is the last day of my job because the company asked me to leave the job.
I have good knowledge of digital marketing, but still, they told me to leave my job. I was trying my best to get traffic and sales to the website. They were focusing on just copy-pasting, data entry,& SEO backlink spamming. I was trying to do real marketing like content marketing & funnel strategy.
No one was listening to my words. So I was fed up due to this.
I thought I settled in a job & I can survive independently because, before the Digital marketing job, I was exploring & studying various jobs like Govt exams, bank & cad designs. Among all the jobs, I prefer only Digital marketing.
But this also became question now. I was kind of depressed & didn't know what to do.
So Finally, "I told him that this is why I am going back to my hometown."
After listening to my sorrowful story, he gave me my money back.
If you look at the above story, It only contains my pain or struggles.
But you say your story to customers, should contain both “Struggles that you overcome & the final results that you get”
You can keep monitoring my content, I am integrating some stories along with the technique you are looking for.
When you tell a story, your customer is able to relate to the story. This allows you to stand in their mind.
